I was 8 years old and I dreamed of wearing a mechanical watch when most of my friends dreamed of a soccer ball or a bicycle. My Grandmother offered it to me. It was made of steel and it was a KELTON.
I was 10 years old when I discovered what the “another train may be coming” sign really meant. The story of my life could have come to an end right there; a couple of seconds between the train and me were all that saved me. Life and death can be a matter of seconds, and ever since that day, I've been living in the present moment more than anywhere else.
I was 14 when I heard the word “watchmaker” for the first time – and right there, I realized that I could never be anything other than a watchmaker, and that an entire career could also be decided in a matter of seconds.
Only the present moment has a meaning.
This philosophy is inside my creations: the Upside Down, all numbers are down and just the correct hour is up and in the Half Time, all numbers are shuffled except the actual hour.
