Miss Audrey Sweet Art Dial-Making Masterclass
Representing sweetness and purity, the dial of the Miss Audrey Sweet Art is a breakthrough in engineering innovation, materials, and miniature painting – all hallmarks of the House of BOVET. For the first time ever in the history of watchmaking, these dials are made from pure sugar.
For this class, master miniature painter Andre Martinez will teach students everything there is to know about this new technique of using real sugar crystals to craft a dial. Students will prepare a metal base dial, mix the paints, color the sugar crystals, then make their own dial out of sugar under the direct guidance and tutelage of Mr. Martinez. The history of miniature painting will be presented, as well as the breadth of possibilities available in the Sweet Art collection.
At the end of the class, all students’ sugar dials will be fired in an oven, and they can keep this piece of art forever. This is a unique opportunity to study this new take on traditional métiers d'art with a true Master, who is responsible for the incredible BOVET 1822 Sweet Art and miniature-painted timepieces
