In 2022, independent watchmaker Hervé Schlüchter founded "Les Ateliers Hervé Schlüchter Art Traditionnel Horloger" in Biel after a long career in the watchmaking world.
The aim of his workshops is to create timepieces that highlight and preserve the traditional art of watchmaking, a craft handed down from generation to generation. This allows Hervé Schlüchter to express his creativity and his vision of watchmaking.
The philosophical mechanical instrument "L'Essentiel" is the first chapter in the major "Tree of Life" project, which expresses the relationship with time across generations.
The watchmaker places great importance on freedom, both creative and design. Freeing himself from the constraints of time, he brings to life timepieces that have been carefully studied, from the design stage through to the manufacture and hand-finishing of the watch.
