Unlike the classic motoring world, restoration can be a tricky subject in the realm of watch collectors. In the absence of any established third-party restoration experts or rules, the subject is often a contentious topic among collectors, auction house specialists and vintage experts. However, when it comes to classic cars, the rules and expectations around restoration is clearer, well-documented and accepted by the collecting community. Joining in this freewheeling chat are experts from both worlds – Miguel Llorente from Tomini Classics, a renowned classic car dealership; Max Bernardini, watch collector and proprietor of Bernardini Luxury Vintage; Remy Julia, director of watches, Christie’s Middle East
