Having studied French and German at the Universities of Salford and Bath in the United Kingdom, graduating with a BA Hons and a PG Dip in translation and interpreting, I was predestined to leave the UK, but did not expect to do so less than a week after graduating. Having started my career as a conference interpreter at the EU in Brussels, I moved to Switzerland nearly 20 years ago to work as a translator. It was in this capacity that I got to know the watch industry and developed a passion that has lasted ever since, taking me into the realms of press and PR work for brands and, more recently, to print and online watch media. As Editor-in-chief of WorldTempus, I am responsible for the editorial strategy of the site, writing and commissioning content and handling social media. I have more recently developed a renewed interest in a long-forgotten part of my studies – natural language processing – that I now like to experiment with using skills I have learned in programming and machine learning.
