Nazanin Lankarani is an independent journalist specializing in art, jewelry, watches and luxury. She is based in Paris.
She was born in Iran and educated in the United States and France. She earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of California at Los Angeles, and a law degree from the University of Southern California. She also obtained a degree in Art History and Connoisseurship from Christie’s Education in Paris.
Nazanin began her professional career in 1990 as a lawyer specializing in commercial litigation, and a member of the New York and California state bars. In 2005, she relocated from New York to Paris and began a career as an independent journalist two years later.
Since then, Nazanin has been a regular contributor to the International New York Times, Vanity Fair on Time, World Tempus, a digital watchmaking daily, and Artology, a magazine for art, travel and creativity. She has also contributed to Vanity Fair on Art, and Blouin Lifestyle publications. She is a co-author of Delicious Jewels, a book about the contemporary jeweler, Hemmerle.
In 2013 and 2014, Nazanin served as member of the jury of the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève. Nazanin has advised art collectors on acquisitions and given talks on art collecting and the art market.
