Alain Zimmermann started his career in 1989 at the L’Oréal Group after completing his studies at the Reims Management School (CESEM) in France and Reutlingen University in Germany.
In 1995, he joined Cartier in Munich, holding various positions within the Marketing Department. After four years in Germany, he went on to occupy several roles with Cartier in Paris, before becoming Director of International Development for Cartier Perfumes.
In 2002, Alain Zimmermann joined IWC, another Richemont Group brand based in Schaffhouse, Switzerland. He successfully held the post of Area Sales Manager for Switzerland, the Middle East and Asia, before becoming International Marketing Associate Director at the Schaffhouse watch manufacture.
Keen to seek out new challenges, Alain Zimmermann subsequently became Marketing & Communication Managing Director at the Swiss private bank, Julius Bär. However, three years later, he was asked to return to IWC as Chief Marketing Officer, before being appointed Chief Executive Officer of Baume & Mercier, in September 2009.
