Master craftsmen have been creating unique timepieces for hundreds of years. These artists translate their vision and emotions into wearable pieces of art through various skills such as enameling, engraving and miniature hand painting. This panel will guide its audience through the various techniques that come under the Metiers d’Art umbrella and explain how long it can take for a master craftsman to learn, train and then execute certain types of work. Audience members will be able to learn more about the different types of engraving (guilloche and its various patterns), enameling (Cloisonné, Grand Feu, Champlevé, Paillonnée, etc), miniature painting and gem setting through various examples that celebrate the imagination and creativity of master watchmakers.
